Many Hidden Object games use terrible murders and mysterious disappearances or supernatural forces to keep your attention and to create the plot. However, Hidden Mysteries: Gates of Graceland is a game which won’t do that. The storyline is much different, and it goes something like this: You take the role of the narrator whose life has been changed forever by Elvis’ music and work, and that is why she works as a manager of the exhibits in the Elvis museum. While maintaining the exhibit, you find a clue that suggests that Elvis wrote a very touching song for his mother, but never had a chance to release it. What’s more, this song is probable hidden somewhere in his home, so you get a chance to visit Graceland! Although the beginning of the story is great, not much happens afterwards, and the plot doesn’t have any twists, so it might not be so interesting to those who are not Elvis’ fans. However, the game features a lot of videos and soundtracks of his music and live concerts, which is a really great add-on.

Another feature we will concentrate on in this review is the gameplay. Unfortunately, Hidden Mysteries: Gates of Graceland doesn’t have the gameplay that will make the difference on the market of hidden object games, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. On contrary, the Hidden Object scenes are just okay, mostly based on text lists from which you find objects. Some of the scenes with hidden objects are interactive, it means that you will have to employ items previously obtained. Also, a nice addition to this game is a wide range of Elvis-related items, like blue suede shoes, or concert tickets, that are used in the scenes. Besides the Hidden Object scenes, we have also puzzles, which are necessary for every adventure type game. This game being a point-and-click single player game, it is not a surprise that most of the puzzles are those that can be found in the games of similar genre, and that means that you will encounter rotating, swapping tiles etc. The mini-games and puzzles are sometimes far too easy, but they are still fun. As usual, there is the hint system, which helps you if you get stuck. The game experience lasts for around four hours.

What players these days are mostly looking forward are the graphics and the music and sound effects. In this game, Hidden Mysteries: Gates of Graceland, the graphics are said to resemble as closely as possible his mansion in Graceland, of course, altered a bit for the purposes of the game. The scenes are colorful, original, very clear, but not the best we’ve seen. The music, on the other hand is great. Even though you won’t be listening only to Elvis in this game, there are themes that sound just like his tunes, and that is great as well.

All in all, Hidden Mysteries: Gates of Graceland is a Hidden Object game with elements of Puzzle and Adventure genre, that is average in its graphics and gameplay, but marvels at music and the plot, making it a highly desirable game to download in the free trial version, or purchase and play in the full version!
